Is it legal to buy firearms on the internet?
Yes, it is legal to pay for guns on the internet, but you must follow ALL Federal, State and local laws regarding the transfer of firearms.
Can you ship firearms directly to my home?
No, we cannot.
I can't get to your store, so how do I receive the gun I bought online from Wolverine Shooting Sports?
The easiest way to do it is find a local dealer with a Federal Firearms License (FFL) that you can trust to treat you fairly. Most FFL's are great people, but just like with everything else, a couple bad apples can make the whole firearms industry look bad. Tell your local FFL that you want them to receive a firearm for you, and that they must send us a signed copy of their Federal Firearms License. Click here for our address. If your dealer has received guns for other customers before, they will know exactly what to do. Once we receive your dealer's license (FFL) and we have received your payment in full, we will ship the gun to your dealer. When your dealer receives your gun, they will call you to let you know that you can go in and pick it up.
What kind of paperwork is required when I pick up my gun?
No matter where you live in the United States, you will have to fill out the Federal form 4473, and you will have to undergo a background check. Don't worry, it's painless, and usually instant. You may also have additional paperwork that your local or state government requires. Some States also require a permit to purchase a handgun. Talk to your local dealer to find out all of the requirements in your state.
What happens if I don't pass the background check?
By law, if there is anything in your criminal background that would prohibit you from owning a firearm, the transfer will be denied, and you will not be permitted to take possession of the firearm. If you send the gun back to Wolverine due to a problem with your background check, we will charge a 20% restocking fee.
Will my local dealer charge me anything to receive my gun?
Typically, yes. Most dealers charge a fixed fee to receive a firearm for a customer, and do all the paperwork involved in the transfer. Most (but not all) dealers charge between $20.00 and $50.00 as a receiving fee.
Will there be sales tax added to my order?
If you live in the State of Michigan, yes, you will be charged 6% sales tax on your order, even if we ship your order to another dealer in Michigan. If you do not live in Michigan, we will not charge you sales tax, but you are still required to follow your local tax laws. If you are liable to pay a state sales tax, your receiving dealer can help you out. Many dealers will collect the tax for you, or you may be able to pay it on your State income tax return. Follow your local State laws.
What if I want to return the gun for some reason?
From the date that your dealer receives the gun, you have three days to inspect the firearm for any factory defects. We highly recommend that you do your homework and know what you're ordering before you order it. If you want to return the gun, you must have your dealer ship the gun back to us within that three days in order to receive a full refund for your purchase price. You will have to pay for return shipping and insurance, and your original shipping and handling fees that we received will NOT be refunded.
What kind of warranty comes with my firearm?
If you purchased your new gun using Option #2 on the Products page, it is protected by the Davidson's Lifetime Warranty. If you used Option #1 or Option #3, it is covered by the manufacturers warranty only. If you have a mechanical problem with your firearm, send it to the factory or the manufacturers service center, not to Wolverine Shooting Sports.
